La Mondotte 2017 has a deep garnet color. It waltzes out with ready-to-go scents of stewed red and black plums, blackberry preserves, and dried rose, plus hints of cinnamon stick, charcoal, and tilled soil. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and refreshing with lovely acidity and a perfumed, spicy finish.

The 2017 La Mondotte is absolutely exquisite, just as it was from barrel. In 2017, La Mondotte stands out for its aromatic intensity, nuance and total translucency. Sage, mint, licorice, plum, chocolate, spice and mineral undertones all grace this striking, beautifully nuanced Saint-Émilion made with 30% Cabernet Franc in addition to its Merlot base. More than anything else, I really admire the wine's precision and tension. The 2017 is such a gorgeous Mondotte.

Bordeaux

Red Bordeaux, globally renowned, is crafted in France’s Bordeaux region from grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. These full-bodied wines feature dark fruit flavours, earthy and spicy notes, and often benefit from ageing. Top producers include Château Margaux, Château Latour, and Château Lafite Rothschild. White Bordeaux, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, offers styles from crisp to rich, with citrus and tropical notes. Sweet Bordeaux wines, like Sauternes, are famed for their rich sweetness and flavours of apricot and honey, with Château d’Yquem as a leading producer.
